Introduction
JUN Porcelain, a porcelain variety from China, boasts unique glaze coloration and gains its reputation for historical value, inherited craftsmanship, and artistic charm. Almost one and a half millenniums ago, JUN PORCELAIN had her humble origin in the heartland of Ancient China. Because of her natural elegance, JUN PORCELAIN was officially excluded from the burial items by the emperor of TANG Dynasty, and then, after the eighth emperor of SONG Dynasty (AD 1082-1135) founded the Mandarin Kiln (Guanyao) there, JUN PORCELAIN products had been solely used by loyal family only.
Ores of different substances have to go through over 70 steps, and then are converted into the final JUN PORCELAIN products. This working process was brought around and followed by the craftsmen back to TANG dynasty (1300 years ago), who though only were able to make mono-coloured JUN PORCELAIN products. By SONG dynasty the craftsmen then added the essence to such process, and broadened its spectrum to bigger varieties. Therefore, JUN PORCELAIN is unique for her harsh colouring, unlike normal pale porcelain colouration. In fact, a JUN PORCELAIN master is able to manipulate kiln work by maintaining flame temperate over 1,300 Celsius degree (about 2,400 in Fahrenheit), controlling burning condition and position, and the moment of process termination, to pursue splendid and glorious pigment on glazing. The typical mastering on the process also includes the utilisation of natural conditions or climatical influence to assure the reasonable ‘surprise’. So it is faire to say each exclusive JUN PORCELAIN product is the collaboration of god’s action and human efforts and endeavour.

Adoring World of JUN Porcelain
During the Yongzheng Period of the Qing Dynasty, the Royal Kiln Factory used copper as a colorant and combined with a secondary firing method to create turquoise green glaze. This glaze is rich in color, which is blue-green. There is imperial majesty in the subtlety, exuding the charming and noble temperament.
The national strength was prosperous during the Yongzheng and Qianlong Reigns of the Qing Dynasty. Because of being loved by the emperor with high artistic accomplishment, Turquoise green became a symbol of nobility and elegance, and its royal artistic charm was full.
In 2018, the R&D team of ZORO Gigrav used ancient methods to make traditional wood ash into the glaze, so that the turquoise green glaze in Jun porcelain’s works is different from the ancient ones and has unique sense of warmth. The glaze is like a gentleman, but also like a beauty. It is gentle and cultivated, quiet and peaceful. Turquoise green, which embodies the royal style of the past, finally enters the home of ordinary people in the new era and interprets our own quiet years.
